Sunday March 13, 2011 If you've ever watched the Food Network, you’re probably familiar with Alton Brown and his quirky science-based methods of preparing food. One local school, Greenwood Friends School in Millville, is taking Brown’s methods to heart with its new Kitchen Science curriculum, taught by 10-year veteran teacher Audra dePrisco. She came up with the idea for the program in 2009.“I was looking for something that would tie into the curriculum,that would be meaningful to the students, and that they could look forward to each week. And something that would address those students that are hands-on learners.” |
