We are very happy to share that Elizabeth Sterling will be joining us next year to teach middle school math and middle school/intermediate science and PE. Elizabeth comes to us with over 10 years of experience teaching and developing curricula for her own classroom, most recently at Lewisburg Area High School. She employs an interdisciplinary approach to teaching math and science, using a wide variety of hands-on/project based activities to enrich student understanding. Her respect for students' potential creates a high standard in her classroom for purposeful engagement, critical thinking, and clear communication. She has participated in Meeting for Worship among Friends and appreciates Quaker principals in schools. Elizabeth is also an athlete, a writer and an enthusiastic gardener. Along with her interests, experience, and understanding of community, it was Elizabeth's desire and capacity to become a member of strong team of teachers that stood out as particularly exciting for Greenwood students. When teachers here work together to make this the best possible place to learn, students benefit tremendously and Greenwood grows. We're glad that Elizabeth will be here to lead our Middle School next year and to help Greenwood fulfill our potential and our mission as a vibrant Friends school.
